How To Find Websites Providing Jobs For Freelance Creative Writers

Searching for freelance websites on the internet

One of the best ways of finding freelance websites is specifically do an Internet search. Any decent search engine will bring up numerous related websites. Whilst there is a handful of major websites that you may have heard of, there are likely to be dozens of smaller ones that you may not know anything about.

It is also worth noting that some of the websites are only available to people in certain countries, whilst others may specialise in certain types of content. Therefore, unless you live in one of these countries, or your niche is connected to these writing styles, then it may be best just carry on looking.

Knowing which sites to trust

There are two things to consider when it comes to whether you can trust a website. Firstly, how you will be paid? And secondly, what are the clients like and what protections do you have.

Whilst some of the bigger websites are trustworthy, in the way that they act as a middleman who holds the funds and releases them once the work is done, it doesn’t necessarily mean all the clients that post jobs are as trustworthy. Having said that, you will always get bad or unscrupulous clients wherever you look. Essentially, spotting who to trust and who not to trust is something that you will learn with experience. One thing to bear in mind though is that if a deal looks too good to be true then proceed with caution.

Using sites that will reward you enough for your time

Before you start using any of the websites is best to do some research. Most of them have a range of pros and cons attached to them. For example, some of the websites will have many clients offering numerous jobs throughout the day, whilst others only have a handful of new jobs posted each day. However, it is important to consider things in terms of quality, not just quantity.

If a website has loads of jobs posted on a daily basis, but you few of them pay very well then you may only consider bidding on a small fraction of the jobs. Whereas, if you have a small site that offers good paper with almost every job then this could be just as good if not better than one of the biggest sites.

The best thing to do is try and have a look at a few of the job that are currently posted, as well as any of the clients who posted them. This will give you an idea of how much to expect in terms of pay.
